Welcome to Little Monsters Photography.....

Hi! My name is Kari Coon and I am a professional child photographer in Flushing, Michigan. I am a mother of two, wife of one (as far as he knows) and a Dirty Dancing fan. I watch it over and over again because of the important social and political messages. I am also a nerd, a voracious reader, and I tell bad jokes. Lots of them. I will make weird faces as I photograph your offspring. Do not be alarmed. I will also use a fart machine if necessary to elicit laughs. My style. Hmmm. It is a bit of traditional studio and modern lifestyle mixed together and sprinkled with raisins. Wait, not raisins. Chocolate chips. Raisins have too much fiber and stick in my teeth. I love my job, I get to hang out with kids, tell jokes, blow raspberries, and use Wilson (that is what I call my camera) to capture your child(ren) as they really are. And if Wilson doesn't work, I have a butterfly net that we can use.

Why should you pick me to photograph your kids? I will be honest, I am not the prettiest, smartest, or best dressed photographer around. I wear pink crocs religiously, and my hair is a mess 99% of the time. But I will spend time getting to know your child. I will capture his spirit, her laugh, his shyness, and her spunk. I will capture tears and joy, newborns and nearly teens, almost adults and adorable toddlers. Even the family pets. Unless it is a ferret. I have to draw the line somewhere and a long time ago I had a rumble with a ferret and he kicked my butt. So I am still bitter.

Baby R…..it’s a girl!

I photographed Baby R’s parents and was waiting to find out if they had a boy or a girl. When I found out they had a girl, I was excited because I have photographed her little cousin, Miss H, and I thought it would be fun for them to grow up together. She was every bit as beautiful as I expected her to be.

Enjoy!

Little C…three months old….

It is no secret that I loooooove babies. I especially love babies who have their own personality that just shines through even at three months. Little C had some of the greatest faces I have ever seen, sunny, serious, intense, silly. He even wore angel wings. I did manage to sneak his mommy in some of the photographs, I really felt that their bond needed to be captured as I could tell Little C rocks his mommy’s socks!

Enjoy!

A beautiful family of four….

It was so fun to photograph the C family Saturday morning. Not only were they a gorgeous family, they really seemed to enjoy being photographed, having fun playing and laughing and little C was such a trooper. He handled all the posing like a champ! Not to mention that Baby P is so beautiful with an amazing head of hair. Oh, and they are Tigers fans…doesn’t get any better than that!

Enjoy!

Baby K and family…..

Baby K was a pleasure to photograph. Not only is she gorgeous but she has the cutest big brother who I love to see, too. I really appreciate their parents who braved the incredibly hot temps for a few outdoor shots. You have a wonderful family!

Enjoy!

Little Mr. L…..

Little L is almost three months old and has the most rockin’ head of hair. His parents brought him in on Father’s Day and we had a nice time trying to get him to smile at us. He was giving us the ’serious’ face. Serious, happy, silly, he is cute with any expression.
Enjoy!
