This post is a deeply personal one…so buckle up.
I have four sisters-three live in Ohio and one in North Carolina. I adore all of them. They are amazing, wonderful, smart, beautiful, and strong women. One of them, Beth, has been through a lot over the past year and through it all has been singlehandedly raising two gorgeous and wonderful children. The littlest of them is the subject of this post. His name is Austin aka Austy aka little turkey. He is almost 10 months old and truly just the most special and fantastic creature I have the joy and blessing to have in my life. I have two of my own children who I love with all my heart, I would have loved to have had more children but due to some issues…such as having a uterus not fit for sea monkeys (direct quote from my OBGYN) I was lucky to have the two I have. When Austy was born, I was booked solid and couldn’t get there…I live 4 hours away so I didn’t make it until a very sad occasion three weeks later…our Grandmother’s funeral. The minute I held him, I just felt this huge wave of love for him and it has only grown. I adore him and his amazing big sister, Randi. I have been so blessed over the last year to be able to see Austy almost monthly and watch him grow. My two other Ohio sisters help Beth with him and adore him and Randi so much and it just makes me so proud to be their sister. I had a difficult childhood and to have my wonderful family…these amazing people in my life….it is more than I could have ever hoped for.
I got an opportunity (after much begging and pleading) to keep Austy for a few days and it has been amazing and an experience I will be forever grateful for. Of course, I had to take some portraits of him….so I am going to share them. A lot of them.
Enjoy.
